Wow, what a year! Not only did Kiki, along with his partner Magda Fialek, make it to the semi-finals of the Blackpool Dance Festival, but next week he will find out if he can become a “So You Think You Can Dance” finalist! Out of the thousands of people who have auditioned for the show this year, Kiki has made it to the Top 20 dancers of the field and is the only ballroom dancer to be featured in that field!

This year, So You Think You Can Dance took a bit of a different approach to the show by welcoming back past “All-Stars” of the show. They invited past winners and finalists to train and choose the best 10 dancers from The Academy. The Academy consisted of the Top 100 dancers from the nationwide auditions, and included a record breaking 17 ballroom dancers! After a week of grueling 6 AM practices, all day choreography learning, and multiple performances in front of judges, the field was narrowed down to the Top 20. Each All-Star now has a choice to make between two dancers.

Kiki is on All-Star, Jenna Johnson's team, and will be looking to make it to the finals next week. The show starts to go live next week where Kiki will be awaiting his fate and hopefully becoming the first ballroom dancer to be in the top 10 since Season 10! This will be a huge milestone, not only for Kiki, but for AIDA Dance as well, as we have never had an #AIDAChampion make it this far on the show! We want to wish Kiki the best of luck next week and know that we will be rooting for him all the way.
