Oskar Krimus & Shayna McDonald

Originally from Israel, Oskar Krimus grew up in Toronto, Canada, where soccer was his first passion. Following in the footsteps of his father, a professional soccer player, Oskar dreamed of pursuing the sport professionally. At 14, his mother encouraged him to try a dance class, despite his initial lack of interest. He quickly discovered a love for Latin dance and began balancing both soccer and dancing throughout high school. In 2019, Oskar signed a contract to play soccer professionally, but after a tryout with Shayna in 2020, he realized that dance was the path he wanted to pursue. Since then, he has dedicated himself to developing as a Latin dancer and performer. His competitive drive and athletic background continue to influence his approach to dance, while his passion for performance fuels his ambition to reach the highest levels of competition. 

Born and raised in New Jersey, Shayna McDonald began dancing at the age of three and grew up surrounded by dance. Her parents own Rogers Dance Center, which has been a second home throughout her life. Shayna trained in a wide range of styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, ballroom, and Latin, before committing seriously to competitive dance at 13. She went on to achieve success in Ten Dance throughout the Junior and Youth divisions with her previous partner. After partnering with Oskar, Shayna chose to focus exclusively on Latin, allowing her to develop her own artistic identity within the style. Beyond dancing, Shayna is a professional makeup artist and enjoys cooking and watching Harry Potter films in her free time. Today, she combines her competitive experience with a passion for sharing her knowledge and helping other dancers grow. 

Oskar and Shayna began dancing together in 2020 and quickly discovered an undeniable chemistry both on and off the floor. Their partnership eventually developed into a relationship, and Oskar and Shayna married in May 2025. They share a passion not only for competing and performing, but also for learning and helping the next generation of dancers. Before becoming professional, they studied and completed adjudicator examinations through the United States Terpsichore Association to deepen their knowledge of dance and judging. In 2026, they made their Professional Latin debut and immediately began establishing themselves among the strong new couples in the division. They train at Rogers Dance Center alongside Shayna’s parents, Gary and Diana McDonald. Known for their energy and love of performance, Oskar and Shayna aim to make every appearance memorable while working toward their ultimate goal of becoming National Champions.
