Mikhail Kolosov & Elina Semka

Mikhail Kolosov was born in Russia, where his dance journey began as a child after his parents brought him to a dance studio—initially against his will! What started unexpectedly became a lifelong passion and eventually a professional career. Before committing fully to dance, Mikhail studied at university with plans to become a psychologist, but his growing love for dance ultimately led him in a different direction. A major turning point came when he formed his partnership with Elina, a partnership they describe as a happy accident that became the best accident of their lives.  

 
Elina Semka was born in Russia and began dancing as a child after her parents encouraged her to attend a dance studio. Although dance eventually became her professional passion, Elina also explored another form of performance through vocal training. She completed several vocal courses and won three singing competitions, experiences that helped develop her musicality and stage presence. A major turning point came seven years ago when she unexpectedly formed her partnership with Mikhail. Their surprise partnership quickly became a successful professional collaboration. Elina is passionate about the International Latin style's opportunities for musical expression, communication, and emotional connection.

 
Mikhail and Elina formed their partnership seven years ago after a chance meeting that changed their lives and careers for the better! Both originally from Russia, they moved to the United States in early 2023 and now work and represent FADS Doylestown. They compete in International Latin, a style they chose because it allows them to express themselves individually, communicate through movement, and share their love of music. Throughout their partnership, they have earned finalist and prize-winning results at WDSF and American competitions. Their recent success includes a bronze medal at the 2024 USDS Professional Rising Star Latin Championships. Coached by Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova, Mikhail and Elina are committed to fully realizing their potential and continuing to develop as dancers and artists while sharing the passion they have for their partnership and their craft.
