Kevin Ubillus & Milagros Lareto

Born and raised in Trujillo, Peru, Kevin began dancing at age six with Marinera, a traditional Peruvian folk dance. He competed throughout his childhood, earning first place in several competitions, and later expanded his training into hip-hop and breakdance. With parents who were professional dancers and Marinera champions, dance was always a major part of his life and inspired him to pursue it professionally. Before focusing on ballroom, Kevin performed in major television and live productions. He was a professional dancer on El Gran Show, one of Peru’s biggest televised dance competitions, where he won first place in 2017. He also performed during Britney Spears’ tour in Peru and as a soloist in a Coca-Cola production for the FIFA World Cup. He later moved to Lima before relocating to the United States to pursue ballroom dancing.

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Milagros began dancing at age six, training in classical ballet. She was later accepted into Peru’s National Superior Ballet School, where she studied for seven years and developed a strong technical foundation. Performing as a soloist from a young age helped her realize that dance was more than a passion—it was the career she wanted to pursue. She later became a principal dancer and teacher before transitioning into ballroom. Her career has taken her all over the world, including training at the Cuban National Ballet School in Havana and with Ballet de Camagüey, as well as performing and competing throughout Latin America and Europe, where she earned gold medals. She also performed on El Gran Show, judged the casting of dancers for Britney Spears’ tour in Peru, and performed as a soloist in a Coca-Cola production for the FIFA World Cup.

Kevin and Milagros first met during the casting for Britney Spears’ tour in Peru, where Milagros was part of the judging panel and Kevin was auditioning. They began dancing together in mid-2015, when they moved to the United States to pursue their ballroom careers. Today, they compete in Open Professional American Rhythm and live and train in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, where they also run KM Dance Studios. Their contrasting backgrounds are a defining strength of their partnership: Milagros brings the structure, discipline, and technique of classical ballet, while Kevin brings the freedom, creativity, and musicality developed through hip-hop and his performance background. Growing up in Peru, both were surrounded by Latin music and rhythms, creating a natural connection to American Rhythm. Together, they continue to develop their unique style and pursue the highest level of competitive ballroom. They are 8-time undefeated United States and World Mambo Champions and United States and World Open Professional American Rhythm Finalists.
