Ivan Romanov & Nicole Prosser

Ivan Romanov was born in Perm, Russia, where his connection to ballroom dancing began after his mother watched Dima and Anya perform at the Kremlin Cup. Inspired by what she saw, she encouraged Ivan to start dancing, setting him on a path that would eventually become his profession. Ivan chose International Latin because he finds the style challenging and enjoys the constant opportunity to push himself. His approach to dance is centered on growth, discipline, and embracing the demands of the style. Although Ivan jokingly says he has “no life outside of dance,” his dedication speaks to just how much dancing means to him. Today, he is based in Orange County, California, where he trains and continues developing his partnership with Nicole while working toward creating something they can be proud to share with others. 

Nicole Prosser was born in Perth, Australia, and discovered ballroom dancing remarkably early. At just four and a half years old, after seeing a family member in Africa dancing ballroom, Nicole returned home and told her mother that she wanted to dance too. That early fascination grew into a lifelong passion, eventually leading her to specialize in International Latin. For Nicole, the music is at the heart of everything she does—“It’s always about the music.” Her connection to music shapes the way she approaches movement, performance, and partnership. Outside of dance, Nicole jokes that she loves “spending time inside my head,” reflecting her thoughtful and introspective personality. Today, she lives and trains in Orange County, California, where she continues to explore her artistry and develop her professional partnership with Ivan. 

Ivan and Nicole’s partnership began when Nicole was looking for a new partner after a previous partnership ended. Ivan flew to New Jersey to try out with Nicole, and the two  decided to begin dancing together. Their partnership is built around their shared commitment to International Latin, although they are drawn to the style for different reasons: Nicole is inspired by its music, while Ivan enjoys its challenges. Now based in Orange County, California, they are focused on creating a dance product that genuinely represents who they are. For Ivan and Nicole, success is not only measured by titles, but by staying true to their beliefs and creating something that brings joy to themselves and others. Their future goals? They prefer to keep those secrets until they reveal themselves.
