Igor Gorobchenko & Alina Lisova

Igor was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and began dancing at the age of five after discovering the world of ballroom almost by accident. While helping his female classmates carry their school bags to dance school, he watched the dancers and decided to try it himself. From his very first class, he fell in love with dance and quickly began training with the goal of competing at the highest level. His dedication led to major achievements, including becoming a WDC Under 19 World Vice Champion and an Under 21 World Finalist. Those experiences shaped his belief that anything is possible through commitment and hard work. Igor especially loves partnering and exploring movement through dance, with tango holding a special place in his artistic interests. Today, he brings that competitive experience and passion for partnership to his professional career in International Latin.

Alina was born in Cherkasy, Ukraine, and grew up immersed in the competitive dance world. Her older sister was a competitive dancer, so from an early age Alina traveled to competitions, watched the preparation, helped with costumes, and experienced the dedication required behind the scenes. By the age of six, she already knew that she wanted to become a professional dancer and compete at the highest level. Alina went on to train and compete in the demanding 10-Dance discipline, developing a strong appreciation for both Ballroom and Latin styles. Her years of training taught her to value technique and musicality, and today, her favorite part of dancing is the feeling of connecting to the music and expressing its rhythms through movement. She continues to pursue her passion as a professional dancer and educator. 

Igor and Alina met at a dance camp in Ukraine, where they quickly discovered that they shared the same vision for their future and the same desire to continue growing as dancers. That mutual ambition led them to make the decision to move to the United States together and pursue their professional careers. Three years ago, they stepped onto the competition floor together in the United States for the first time. Today, they live, work, and dance in Sarasota, Florida, competing in the Professional International Latin division. Their partnership is built around more than competition results. They strive to use dance to express the connection and communication between a man and a woman, creating something meaningful through their movement. Together, they hope to contribute to the dance community, inspire others, and leave something lasting for future generations.
