Originally born in Mongolia, Bumchin Tegshjargal moved to Oakland, California in 2010 where he started his passion-filled ballroom dancing journey at the age of 12 thanks to his grandma. Bumchin was always a mover and upon his arrival to America his grandma rushed him to a studio where he fell in love with dance instantly. As a young boy, ballroom dancing appealed to Bumchin straight away because of the interesting rhythms that he learned to express using his body and he didn’t waste a minute deciding that Latin was the perfect mix of freedom in movement, music, and partnering for him. As a dancer Bumchin continues to prioritize musicality and individuality while always yearning to learn and master the fundamentals and mechanics. Along with his ballroom dancing career, Bumchin also chose to pursue his love for education and graduated from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo in June, 2021 with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Michelle started her ballroom dancing journey at the very young age of 4 years old, but really began her intense competitive training around 10 years old. Funny enough, her first few lessons ballroom dancing were a complete disaster, but after taking a break for a few years Michelle couldn’t stay away from the studio and asked her mom to bring her back and let her have another go at it. For the past 12 years, Michelle has been lucky to train with the very best in the field and compete in both Internation Latin and Standard. Michelle ended up choosing Latin as her specialty due to how much she loves the Latin rhythms along with its high-energy and individualistic styling where she feels she can truly shine and express her true self. In addition to her dance career, Michelle studied Economics and Finance and graduated from Cal Poly University - San Luis Obispo in June, 2021.

Bumchin and Michelle began dancing together in 2014 at the age of 15 after splitting with their prior partners and so have been dancing together for 8 years now. After dancing together for only a couple months they won their first title, the US National Youth Latin Championship.

A few of Bumchin and Michelle’s achievements are:
  • US National Amateur Latin Runner-Up (2024)
  • US National Amateur Latin Finalist (2021, 2022, 2023)
  • US National Under 21 Latin Champion (2016)

Today, Bumchin and Michelle continue to actively train, teach, and travel for competitions and believe that with the right mindset one can achieve anything they set their mind to. Bumchin and Michelle are based out of the Bay Area, CA where they also train and teach students of all ages and levels. They also have two dogs, Rosie and Daisy, who keep them busy when they aren’t dancing or working. As a couple, Bumchin and Michelle’s main goal is to develop their dancing as much as they possibly can and achieve the highest heights. They wish to continue staying true to themselves, dancing their hearts out, and working hard.
