Robbie Milstead & Emily Tatoosi

Robbie Milstead & Emily Tatoosi

Emily Tatoosi is 13 years old and she lives in Los Angeles, California. Emily’s dance career started when she took her first ballroom dance class at 5 years old and immediately, fell in love with the style of Latin. She’s always had a “firecracker” personality and Latin dancing really gave her the opportunity to show it. Sher found so much joy in entertaining people through dancing so she never stopped! As the ballroom industry doesn’t have enough male dancers, she started dancing Pro Am with her coach, and was happy to win a World Pro Am Champion title at Embassy Ball. Emily was blessed with her family’s commitment and support of her passion, they didn’t spare any resource to her find her a partner - at one point she was even in a bi-coastal partnership, which was complicated, but they ended up winning the National Title in Utah in 2020.

Robbie Milstead is a Latin ballroom dancer who just turned 15 years old and lives in Los Angeles, California. Ever since he was little, whenever a song came on, he started to dance to it. Even before Robbie knew what dance was, his body would respond to the music and he would dance anywhere. His mom saw this and decided to take him to his very first Latin dance class when he was 5 and a half, and ever since then he has loved the genre. Robbie has his mom to attribute his whole dance career to, and without her support and constant motivation he wouldn’t be where he is today. He has made National finals in Utah three times now. The most recent 2022 Nationals in Utah was done with his amazing partner, Emily Tatoosi!

Robbie and Emily’s partnership began during the Covid-19 crisis in June 2020 – but they have been together for 2 years and are going strong!!! They train at the Hollywood Dance Academy with their coaches Vitalik Proskurin and Umario Diallo. Their biggest achievement as a couple is placing Top 5 in the Junior 2 division at the 2022 BYU National DanceSport Championships out of 60 couples! They were also vice-champions of 2022 Emerald Ball DanceSport Championships, and champions of numerous other local competitions. The goals they have for their partnership is to keep this consistency going and to keep working hard and improving!
